A delegation from the European Union, composed of Ms. Sabine Zwaenepoel and Ms. Yolanda San Jose, Officials from the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, and Mr. Mark Stephen Gray, Official from the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, visited the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors of Türkiye on April 14, 2016.

The delegation was greeted at the Plenary Session Hall by Mr. Mehmet Yılmaz, the Deputy President of the HCJP, Mr. Halil Koç, the President of the First Chamber of the HCJP, Mr. Bilgin Başaran, the Secretary General of the HCJP, and Mrs. Müjgan Karyağdı, the Deputy Secretary General of the HCJP.

Within the framework of the visit, negotiations were made regarding the issues that concern the HCJP in Chapter 23 entitled “Judiciary and Fundamental Rights” and Chapter 24 entitled “Justice, Freedom and Security”.

The visit of the Committee was concluded following the presentation of gifts.
